Yeah, already seen it. And honestly, I don’t really care. It just feels to me like blatant fanservice in an attempt to save an anime that has been received poorly. It’s like an insult to the previous series, in my opinion.
I remember reading how Chiaki Konaka (main writer for Tamers) knew that people wanted links to Adventure, such as characters coming back, yet he refused to give in to what he perceived as fanservice (in the end, there was a link done in a very subtle way that worked perfectly: the Agumon toy in episode 35). That’s exactly how I feel about this.
Mmm, it’s decent fanservice, but at this point it’s practically a standalone special. Aside from one brief apparence this ending really has little to do with the first 22 episodes.
