Oh god that Makuramon-line is just SO wrong… Excuse me, does anyone have any brain bleach?
Oh lol, I hadn’t even read it that way. I was too dumbfounded by the wonderful English.
Well, to be fair, in theory there *are* multiple Dukemon. But yeah, hyperliteral hilarity.
Thanks for the release.
Ok…Hulu subs…what the heck…
Wow they actually put “to do a Deva”
“This Dukemon” actually, from what I’ve seen it’s pretty common for subbers to use that phrase when a character is talking about themselves. I personally have no idea whether it is a correct translation or not, but like I said, I see it all the time.
It’s not really a matter of accurate translation (“kono Dukemon” means literally “this Dukemon”), but rather of bad-sounding English. No one would say “this X” when referring to oneself, so the proper way to translate that is “I, Dukemon”. “This Dukemon” is just a dumb literal translation.
Problem is, too many fansubbers do dumb literal translations. And considering all the idiots who complain about “Americanized” and “too liberal” subs just because they’re not a word-by-word translation of the Japanese or because they drop honorifics and the like, I guess they have a big enough audience.
I see it all the time too, but word for word translation is not the proper way to translate anything… it’s the excessively lacking understanding of a weakly coded automated translating program. It has no idea what it’s reading, it just translates the words it from it’s data banks.
A proper translation carries the meaning of the words, not just a weird arrangement to make it sound ‘special’ and ‘foreign’.
That’s why i love you guys’ work! You don’t try to pass off lazy auto-translator slush as ‘correct way to translate’, you guys actually carry over the meaning of what is said, rather then the broken sentence structure, so we get the real view of what is going on. :)
Keep up the good work guys! :D
Waiting for Release: Digimon Tamers 36. Thanks your kindness.
Hi i’m actually waiting for tamer episode 39.. trying to look everywhere for it..hope you can sub it asap!! Thank you =)
Sorry its episode 38
It seems The Wild Bunch is stiring again. Don’t know if it’s worth much, but have you though of collaborating with them since they do have access to direct DVD rips (I believe). Just a thought since you seem to have the superior dedication to the series. I’m not privy to their inner workings so this is just conjecture on my part (as far as their dedication goes).
I’ll be honest, the only collaboration I’d go for is a “give us some DVD ISOs and we’ll handle the rest” thing, which obviously won’t fly. Besides, last time I checked their issue was on the editing end, which none of us three are really qualified for (being non-native English speakers and all).
because the ‘other’ Dukemon would totally forgive him. ;P
hi, could you upload lower quality and smaller size (around 50 mb) in media fire plzzzzzzzzz…I watch digi tamers up to 34 but as lots of websites are filtered in here and I don’t have wide band width if you don’t do so I couldn’t watch it…plzzzz do a favor for me and upload the low quality of every episode on media fire….
